Travel With Children - Our Thailand Itinerary

Updated: Oct 5, 2020

We get a lot of questions about destinations that are great for kids; especially around our travels in Thailand. There are so many reasons why Thailand is a great place to travel with children of all ages but especially with younger children and toddlers!

The locals are so friendly and everywhere we went Roman was the centre of attention, he was waved at down the streets and in restaurants everyone wanted to play with him and I cant even begin to tell you all the freebies he received - balloons, babychinos and sweets galore! Its safe to say he was in his element.

I had pre planned our itinerary before we left as it was our first experience of 'backpacking' with a baby. we picked out a specific route that allowed us to revisit places that we knew would be great for Roman, safe and not too far off the beaten track should anything happen to go wrong.

Our Thailand Itinerary -

Bangkok - 3 nights

A chance to get over a bit of jet lag, see the amazing city sights and a great jumping off point to anywhere in Thailand

Khao Lak - 5 Nights

We love Khao Lak it has great beaches, amazing surroundings and a great place to dive from, stay on the main street and you are within walking distance to most things.

Phuket (Patong) - 3 nights

Its knows for being very crazy and a party town however because its so established with tourists its also got the best amenities for children - soft plays and amusement arcades, hotels geared up for kids and a great beach.

Koh Phi Phi - 5 Nights

This was a little of a self indulge for us as we love Phi Phi, its again known to be a party area but it all depends on where you stay, we stayed on the other side of the island that was very quiet and picturesque, Roman loved spending every day on the beach and we hired a longtail boat for the day which was great.

Koh Lanta - 5 Nights

we booked ourselves into a resort for a few nights here as we fancied something a little more 'holiday' like (private beach, swimming pools and room service) we loved lounging around the pool and beach for a few days and there were quite a few children here which was great for a little break!

Krabi (Ao Nang) - 3 Nights

Another known tourist area but again really set out for families! we took a day trip to Railey which is actually why we wanted to come here as we loved it when we previously visited. A great place for a little bit of shopping and an easy place to fly back to Bangkok from.
